Jet Apparatus Solutions

Elmridge Liqui-Jet Mixing Eductors, Gas-Jet Steam Spargers, & Liqui-Jet Line-Type Heaters

ELMRIDGE 'ME Series' Liqui-Jet Mixing Eductors

ELMRIDGE ‘ME Series’ Liqui-Jet Mixing Eductors

Mixing Liquids Inside a Tank

Keeping Solids in Suspension – Dispersing Chemicals – Maintaining Tank Concentrations – Eliminating Thermal Gradient

ELMRIDGE ‘ME Series‘ Liqui-Jet Mixing Eductors vigorously and efficiently circulate the liquid contents of tanks without powered impellers or other insertion-type rotating mechanical devices. ELMRIDGE ‘ME SERIES‘ Liqui-Jet Mixing Eductors operate on the same principle as our standard line of liquid-powered Jet-Apparatus. Liquid is pumped through the Eductor nozzle, emerging at a relatively high velocity, creating a localized zone of lower pressure. Tank contents are drawn to this lower pressure zone, where the momentum of the motive liquid is transferred to the tank liquid, causing the tank liquid to be ‘pumped’ and circulated. For every gallon of liquid pumped through the Eductor nozzle, up to five gallons of liquid is circulated. Note that the Eductors can actually be ‘aimed’ at specific areas in the vessel. Standard materials of construction are Glass Reinforced Polypropylene, PVDF, PVC, CPVC, Teflon®, Cast Iron, 316 Stainless Steel, Alloy 20 and Hastelloy C®. Other materials are available upon request Threaded, flanged or socket weld connections (except Cast Iron).

ELMRIDGE 'SE Series' Gas-Jet Steam Spargers

ELMRIDGE ‘SE Series’ Gas-Jet Steam Spargers

Heating Liquids Inside a Tank (Sparging Steam)

Heating and Circulating of Vented Vessels by Direct Steam Injection

ELMRIDGE ‘SE Series‘ Gas-Jet Steam Spargers are ‘in-tank’ direct contact heating devices used for directly injecting steam into vented process vessels. The venturi design of these Steam Spargers provides superior injection performance due to the capability of the Sparger to aggressively circulate tank contents, reducing or eliminating thermal gradients. ‘SE Series‘ Gas-Jet Steam Spargers are also extremely thermally efficient as the heat content of the incoming steam is completely transferred to the tank contents. Standard materials of construction are Iron, 316 Stainless Steel, and Alloy 20. Other materials are available upon request. Threaded, Flanged, or Socket Weld Connections (except Cast Iron).

ELMRIDGE Liqui-Jet Line-Type Heaters

Steam Spargers are an
efficient and economical
means of heating large
tanks of water.

ELMRIDGE Liqui-Jet Line-Type Heaters

Heating Liquids External to a Tank (In-Line)

In-line heating of liquids by direct contact steam injection

ELMRIDGE Liqui-Jet Line-Type Heaters are a highly efficient and economical means of heating small to large volumes of liquids ‘in-line.’ The liquid to be heated is accelerated through a specially designed narrow-angle full-cone converging nozzle where it emerges at high velocity as a multitude of liquid droplets. These liquid droplets provide a considerably larger surface area upon which steam can condense than a solid stream of liquid of equal volume flowrate would provide. Steam is introduced into the liquid flow through the annular orifice formed by the outside of the liquid nozzle and the inlet to the diffuser section of the heater.

Note that steam hammer is much less likely to occur in a heater of this style. ‘TLH Series‘ Liqui-Jet Line-Type Heaters do not require that steam pressure be higher than liquid pressure; in fact, designs are available that will draw steam at vacuum. Standard materials of construction are Bronze/Brass, Cast Iron/Steel, and 316L Stainless Steel. Other materials are available upon request. Threaded or Flanged Connections are standard.
